Two hours after your tattoo is finished, remove the bandage at home. If you're out, it’s okay to leave it on a bit longer. It’s normal to see a lot of color pigment and goo in the bandage. Don’t worry.
Cleaning and Applying Aquaphor:Wash your hands thoroughly, then gently clean the tattoo with liquid hand soap under warm water using your bare hand. Pat dry with a fresh paper towel and let it breathe for 10-15 minutes.
Apply a minimal amount of Aquaphor (about the size of a pea for a hand-sized tattoo). Dab the surface with a fresh paper towel until the Aquaphor is barely visible. Apply Aquaphor in this way about four times per day for the next four days. Remember the "4X4" method.
First Day:If any plasma appears on your tattoo, gently dab it off with a fresh paper towel. Your skin might be trying to form a scab.
First Night:Before bed, wrap your tattoo with plastic wrap and secure it with first aid tape. Remove the wrapping first thing in the morning, wash, and continue with the "4X4" method. Do not re-bandage the tattoo.
After the "4X4" Period:Around day 5, your tattoo may start to peel and flake. This is normal. Continue to apply unscented lotion or Aquaphor until your tattoo is fully healed, which could take up to 2 weeks.
Additional Tips:Avoid direct sunlight, soaking, or heavy sweating on the tattoo for at least 48 hours. If irritation persists, contact us for guidance.
